Norma Winstone & Tommy Halferty

Norma Winstone is widely regarded as one of Britain’s greatest jazz singers; Tommy Halferty one of Ireland’s most acclaimed and admired guitarists.

Norma and Tommy have collaborated at various internals in their long and stellar careers thanks to a long-standing friendship. Their show in Bray will celebrate the launch of the duo’s first ever shared recording – on Dublin jazz promoter Allen Smith’s Jazz on the Terrace label.

A recording artist on the prestigious European ECM label since the early 1970s, Norma Winstone was awarded an MBE for her contribution to music a decade ago, while as recently as 2015 she was named the jazz vocalist of the year at the UK’s ‘Parliamentary Jazz Awards.’

Halferty provides a perfect and complimentary foil for her disarmingly direct vocal style, and this intimate show at Bray Jazz is an opportunity to witness a vocal genius up close.
